Junji Ito’s Uzumaki getting an Anime adaptaion

The trailer of Uzumaki anime has been released not so long ago and it looks pretty interesting. It’s a unique, experimental take on the genre that has yet to be explored. People have been on a high horse that non of Junji Ito’s manga can ever be turned into anime and that’s for a quite solid reason. But this time, they ditched the traditional anime look and are trying to animate the manga itself. How it will turn out, only time will tell.

The anime is set for release this year but no release has been confirmed. Under Production I.G‘s production, studio Drive and Akatsuki will be working on it. 4 episodes are announced to be made.
