One of the all-time classic anime Gurren Lagann is set to comeback at its 15 years anniversary in a theatrical format. The trailer is released couple of days ago and some information regarding it is shared which we’ll be tackling. But man, Gurren Lagann was such a hell of a ride that brings many memorable moments. The unforgettable quotes “Believe in me who believes in you”, “Who the hell do you think I am?”, and many more. The animation is timeless and the English dub also being more memorable often than the original. If you haven’t watched this yet, go back, watch it, and you’ll be surprised how many new shows got the inspiration from this.
The trailer and information regarding the new release
Studio Gainax is handling it and it looks like the old is being reused. It’s a cut and patch, movie recap type and it’s only for theater release. IDK if it’s a disappointment but I think of it as an OK way to remind people of the old gem. The animation & visual is still holds up to this day and the story & character moments that many of the newcomers to anime need to take note of.
The screening is split into two parts, which many of us who watched the anime know about it. It will be screened in 2D and in 4DX & MX4D. The 2D screening date for part 1 is 25 August to 7 September and part 2 is 22 September to 5 October. The 4DX & MX4D screenings will be on 6-19 October and 20 October – 2 November for part 1 & 2 respectively. And it’s Japan only. No other releases are confirmed.
