Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King

Synopsys: Asta & Yuno, abandoned at a church in some countryside of the Clover kingdom where people’s status and wealth are the only evaluative value. They set their goal to become the Wizard King and join the magical knights separately to help their village & the church. Yuno is gifted with an immense amount of mana & talent for magic but Asta has no magic nor talents at all; except his overwhelming resolve to keep moving forward and beat his rival, Yuno. They go on adventures, face dangers to protect their loved ones, and form bond with many other magical knights.

Notes: If you are still sleeping on Black Cover then I dunno what to tell ya. You are just missing out on good stuff.

Insomniacs After School

Synopsys: An insomniac boy named Ganta Nakami finds a body inside an abandoned observatory of the astronomy club in the school late at night. It was just a girl named Isaki Magari sleeping inside. They then become friends, do astronomy club activities at night, and tries to cope with their insomnia by making the night fun to enjoy.

Notes: Astronomy Club?! & Call of the Night?! But nothing creepy or lewd, it actually feels better IMO.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Bakuen wo!

KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!

Synopsys: Megumin’s backstory of becoming the explosion mage at the academy in the Crimson Demon’s Town along with Yunyun.

Notes: Finally, some good ol’ KonoSuba.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles

Info:

Synopsys: Mash is treated like a plague for having no magic and must be eliminated as the problem is his genes. Mash then trains his body to compete with magic in a magic-dominated world. But he conceals his identity, joins the prestigious Easton Magic Academy, forms his own group of misfits, and becomes strong enough to cement his existence in this world.

Notes: Black Clover but Harry Potter.

Skip and Loafer

Info:

Synopsys: Iwakura Mitsumi, a country girl, decides to go to Tokyo, enroll in a high school, and move on to the bigger world. But she finds herself the fish out of water and has difficulty coping with the overwhelming city life and interacting with others.

Notes: Expectations vs. Reality, but wholesome. I hope she doesn’t become corrupt like those city dwellers.

Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu

Bokuyaba: The Dangers in My Heart

Info:

Synopsis: Kyoutarou Ichikawa, an introvert middleschooler have a sadistic nature panting up inside. He wants to murder the prettiest girl in his class as painfully as possible but incidentally the girl, Anna Yamada develops an uncanny interest in Ichikawa. Thus, it leads to them understanding each other more than what they seem on the outside and Ichikawa falling for Yamada.

Notes: Took a while to notice but it’s worth it.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride

Info:

Synopsys: A girl was sold in an auction to a masked gentleman who turns out to be a magus. He takes her to a rural place in England where beings and creatures from fantasy exist like fairies, dragons, etc. She is then led to study and train to become the bride of the ancient magus. This is the continuation of this story.

Notes: This one’s going under the radar, but not on my watch. 6 years later, we’re getting the sequel. I wonder if other forgotten shows will come back too.

Jigokuraku / Hell’s Paradise

Info:

Synopsys: Gabimaru is sent to an island called paradise to find the elixir of life so that he be pardoned from the death row he is on. But the island is a living hell where all sorts of evil exist. On that island, Gabimaru & his companions face a lot of adversaries and a lot of brutal incidents occur with a lot of unsightly visuals. Their dark fantasy adventure goes on on the merciless island until Gabimaru finds the elixir and go back to his wife.

Notes: It’s a MAPPA anime. And it’s a crazy great ninja manga with a complex & compelling main character in a messed-up world. It’s a story of finding value in life. Need I say more to make you watch this anime when it airs? It’s gonna be the AOTY.

Princess Principal: Crown Handler – Chapter 3

Info:

Synopsys: Kingdom of Albion’s prince Edward was assassinated and during the funeral, the nobles started to debate over who will take the throne between Princess Mary and Duke of Arkham. While princess Mary is being pressured and mentally exhausted by the pressure from all sides, Ange and Dorothy, the MCs are on a mission to investigate the state of the royal family and uncover the vile plot going about.

Notes: It’s an underrated gem. Watch it.

Psycho-Pass Movie: Providence

BG: The continuation of the Psycho-Pass story in the fourth film.

Notes: Remember this when it was the talk of the town? It’s still running in movie format.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Cosmos

Info:

Synopsys: The story of Sailor Moon draws near the end in the Shadow Galactica arc in the fifth film.

Notes: The all-time classic continues along.

Oshi no Ko

Info:

Synopsys: A famous idol, Ai Hoshino gets pregnant with twins and goes to a countryside gynecologist who is a big fan of hers and promises a safe delivery. After the delivery, he gets murdered by an obsessive stalker and then reincarnated as the idol’s son. While he keeps his old memories, he sees the ugly truth behind the curtains of the showbiz world and decides to protect his mother and favorite idol.

Notes: From Kaguya-sama’s author but grittier. Next best idol anime.

Dead Mount Death Play

Info:

Synopsys: The corpse god necromancer gets reincarnated into the non-magic world from a fantasy world after the showdown with the hero. Here he finds himself in a lot of conflicts such as the cops, mafia, and other underworld crime organizations.

Notes: It’s another reverse isekai. An it’s a lot grittier.

Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage

Synopsys: The continuation of the Ranking of Kings story and Bojji’s journey.

Notes: ALRIGHT!!!

My Home Hero

Info:

Synopsys: Tetsuo Tosu kills his daughter’s abusive boyfriend who turns out to be a member of a crime syndicate. Tetsuo now has to face the impending dangers towards his family and with his wife, he prepares to do so.

Notes: Finally, some intensity and suspense.

Heavenly Delusion

Info:

Synopsys: In a post-apocalyptic world, children are raised within walls for safety and that area is governed by robots while the outside world is inhabited by supernatural beings. Maru and Kiruko sneak out to look for heaven but constantly face life-ending dangers. Their journey becomes nothing but a bitter-sweet experience in quest of freedom with many grotesque sights.

Notes: Another psychological thriller.

Dr. Stone: New World

Synopsys: The continuation of the story where Senku & his kingdom of science takes it to the seas to uncover the mystery of turning everyone on earth into stone and discover new lands.

Notes: Man, this is going to feel a lot more lonely.

Kanojo ga Koushaku-tei ni Itta Riyuu

The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke’s Mansion

Info:

Synopsys: Park Eunha dies and wakes up in the world of a novel she read once as a character who is supposed to die. She decides to fight against fate and change the course of the story but doing so leads to a lot more twists & turns.

Notes: Isekai but from manhwa (Korean comics) so it’s not gonna be like the typical trashy isekai dumpster fire you see every day.

Tonikaku Kawaii

TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You

Synopsys: The love story of ToniKawa continues into the second season of anime.

Notes: Get ready to get diabetes.

Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru

Info:

Synopsys: Yamada has seeming cheated on his girlfriend inside a game with another girl and a drama begins. But the girlfriend, Akane Kinoshita doesn’t give up and tries her best to shake up Yamada’s anti-social, stoic persona.

Notes: Gaming anime, what can say. It’s great to see the romance genre is moving towards the adult cast instead of the typical high school teenage rom-com stuff. Hope madhouse doesn’t disappoint.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury

Synopsys: After the events of the first season, the two girls, Suletta Mercury & Miorine Rembran, are separated as a new challenge awaits them.

Notes: Season 2 already?! They are stopping after the first season’s success. And the hand-drawn mechs look dope!

I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too

Synopsys: A boy who has been bullied a lot and been a punching bag for his whole life accidentally finds a mysterious door that leads to another world. There he discovers a lot of magical items and monsters that he can even bring back to his world. With that, he starts dominating but that triumph is short-lived as trouble followed him back too.

Notes: These people need to be stopped with the ridiculous naming coz their dumb brains can’t think of a decent title. Good concept of an isekai show BTW.

Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Punch!

Synopsys: The adventures of the Bear girl continue in the fantasy world as she explores further and brings more modern day items.

Notes: A laid-back isekai experience once again.

Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-hen

Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc

Info:

Synopsys: The story takes to the village where the weapons to slay the demons are forged. Impending danger draws near to render the Demon Slayer corp. defenseless but Tanjiro’s group along with two Hashiras stand against them.

Notes: It’s like an on/off switch. When this show hits, it sets fire to the whole world. But when it ends, it’s like we’ve woken up from a genjutsu. Hope this arc can surpass the previous ones.

(Don’t watch the trailer BTW, and stay away from any interactions or social media discussion to save yourself from any kind of spoilers: images, clips, texts, or anything with significant hints can ruin the whole experience.)

Blue Orchestra

Synopsys: Hajime Aono is forced into a situation where he has to teach a girl named Ritsuko Akine to play violin despite his refusal. Later, he begins to open up and reignites his passion for the violin.

Notes: The musical show of this season. And it has “blue” in the title, like Blue Lock, Blue Period, and so on. And I think it’s tied to passion or something. BTW, the MC’s name Ao means blue.

Otaku Elf

Info:

Synopsys: A teenage shrine maiden discovers a she-elf inside the temple who loves laying around, playing games, eating snacks, and reading comics; basically living the otaku—weeb life. Thus, the comedic, slice-of-life story begins.

Notes: It’s giving me the Inari Kon Kon vibe, couldn’t help but give it a shot. Also, I’m into the mystical, supernatural stuff so… watch it.

Tokyo Mew Mew New ♡

Synopsys: Second season of the story of the magical girls saving the endangered animals.

Notes: It’s a good show. Watch it.

A Galaxy Next Door

Info:

Synopsys: Ichirou Kuga is having a hard time raising his two kid siblings while pursuing this manga drawing career. At his lowest, a strange girl named Shiori Goshiki applies to be his assistant and Ichirou starts seeing the light of hope again.

Notes: It’s a wholesome, family, light-hearted comedy drama. And it has a great title too.

My Clueless First Friend

Synopsys: An airheaded, clueless kid befriends a gloomy, lonely girl who was a laughingstock and object for bullying, and their light-hearted, wholesome adventure begins.

Notes: The kawaii show of the season.

Kawaisugi Crisis

Info:

Synopsys: An alien named Luna Liza wants to destroy the earth but changes her mind after discovering the cuteness of the cats. Henceforth, the comedy-drama begins.

Notes: The pet anime of the season. Just when I needed some comfort after I lost my cat, I got the game Stray, & now this.

Gridman Universe

Info:

Synopsys: Featuring the characters from both SSSS.Gridman & SSSS.Dynazenon, battle against chaos begins while Yuta Hibiki, the MC tries to live a normal life after already concluded a climactic battle.

Notes: Another mecha anime in this season, I appreciate that. The animation is really good.

Feast of Amrita

Synopsys: Some highschool girls get trapped inside an apartment complex where they are haunted down one by one by some supernatural being.

Notes: The horror anime of this season.
